关于范星宇 / About Xingyu Fan

Xingyu Fan (b. 2002) is a visual artist working primarily with photography and moving image. He received his MA in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art in 2026 and his BA in Photography from Nanjing University of the Arts in 2024.

His practice explores how technological, cultural, and spatial systems shape individual perception and experience within contemporary life, engaging with themes including migration, the body, time, cultural memory, and ecology. He incorporates methods of speculative design into his photographic and moving-image practice, combining field research, fictional scenarios, and generative image-making to construct visual narratives between documentation and imagination.

His practice also explores the relationship between image-making and emerging technologies, integrating photography, moving image, post-production, generative AI, and interactive prototyping into his creative process. Alongside his personal artistic practice, he contributes to documentary, artistic moving-image, and commissioned visual projects.
